Sports

There should be a "Coach Club" in town. What a great group this would be! Coaches are very special people, taking time out from busy life schedules to organize, train and mentor team members. In the world of sports, volunteers are needed on all levels. Teachers, coaches, officiates and good organizers are warmly welcomed. An accomplished friend told us, "Of all the things I have done in life, coaching children gave me the greatest reward."

Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center (BANC)
289 Delavan Avenue, 531.1522 (Monday - Friday, 3:00-5:00)

In 1982, Mr. & Mrs. Francis Archibald donated and converted this building into a nonprofit, neighborhood community center. Today, the BANC has wonderful programs for children. Activities include BANC Summer Camp, a two-hour after school program through the Greenwich Department of Social Services and youth sports programs (a football program, with different divisions for ages 8-14, and two baseball teams). Adult volunteers who enjoy working with children are always welcome.

Dedicated and committed volunteer coaches and officials are welcome to get involved in these sports programs run by the town (in-house training is a requirement).
