Greenwich is a town known for its beautiful winding roads, old stone walls, pretty beaches, daffodils blooming bountifully and flowering baskets on the shopping streets. Generations of volunteers who love to garden and who simply appreciate beauty around them are greatly responsible for this outstanding reputation. 130 Bible Street, Cos Cob, 869.9242 This is a gardener’s heaven. Started in 1957, this volunteer organization is dedicated to the appreciation of horticulture and nature through educational programs and special events. All kinds of classes in gardening, flower arranging, landscape design are happening all the time. Volunteers are needed to work in the greenhouse, gift shop, and also to help with workshops, trips and special events. Greenwich Daffodil
Society In the Spring, daffodils burst into bloom all over town. If you love daffodils you will love a membership in this group. The group sponsors the annual Connecticut Daffodil Show at Christ Church. Riverside Garden Club This local club is a member of the National Council of State Garden Clubs and it is a charter member of the Federated Garden Clubs of America. Members have a wonderful time together as they work on horticultural education programs and on projects to enhance the beauty of our town. New members are heartily welcomed. Woman’s Club of Greenwich Gardeners The Woman’s Club, a greatly enjoyed, highly respected philanthropic service organization in our town has a special branch of women devoted to gardening, horticultural education and projects to enhance the beauty of our town. New members to the Woman’s Club and to this special branch of Gardeners are welcomed.
