Volunteers are needed to protect our wildlife and to care for the dear creatures who greet us so passionately in our homes.

Since 1981, volunteers have rescued dogs and cats and helped them find loving permanent homes. They need help with animal care and events. Your pet will tell you, this group holds the not to be missed, social event of the year, "Puttin’ on the Dog".

Lifesavers to stray and abandoned cats, volunteers provide temporary foster care and help find good homes for adoption. Comforting cats and kittens plus help with fund raising is always needed.

Every year, this nonprofit organization puts together a very successful dog show in June. This year will be their 72nd show. Volunteers are needed to help fill catalogs and to assist with parking. Volunteer opportunities are also available for those who love dogs and those with a knowledge of dogs and dog shows.

Alison Taintor and Meredith Sampson are licensed wildlife rehabilitators. They have a wildlife hot line (203.389.4411) for emergencies. Volunteers are needed to help with feeding, cleaning, rescue and transport.
